Mount Elbrus Location

Mt Elbrus is the highest peak in Europe. It located Caucasus mountain western part in the Russian Federation in the south part of Russia in Kabardino-Balkaria region.

Mount Elbrus altitude

Elbrus has two summits, western and eastern summits, the west peak is higher than eastern, and his height is 5642 m, and eastern summit altitude is 5621 m

Mount Elbrus facts

The first ascent was in 1829. first time west summit climb Local guide Kilar Khashirov.  In 1925 On Summit Elbrus ascent first woman Aleksandra Japharidze. She was from Georgia.

Elbrus climbing routes 

Easiest and fastest way in a summit is a 2A grade on West peak form Southside, from Azau. From this side possible to use ski lift till 3700 m.  one of difficult thing is his high altitude. To our clients, we offer this rote. On Elbrus possible to reach from Northside and also from Southwest side it calls Kukurtlu rote

Best season for mount Elbrus

The season for climbing mount Elbrus is starting from June and finish at the end of September. High season for climbing in July and August


We offer to you expeditions on Mt Elbrus with fixed dates. This tour is for everyone who is going to MT Elbrus and can join to open groups. All dates and options with the price you can see on this page. Our professional guide and staff will make the best of for ascent on Summit. The easiest way in a summit is a 2A grade. One difficulty thing is his high altitude. But all members with the right physical condition and good acclimatization can climb on the Summit. The first ascent was made in 1829

Day 1 – Meet at MinVodi Airport and transfer to a hotel in Terskol.180 km, 3,5 - 4 hour. Night in the hotel. (- / - / D) 
Day 2 – Acclimatization day. Trekking to Cheget peak (3000m). Walking time about 5 hours. You can appreciate a panoramic view of the Baksan valley and Mt.Elbrus. Night in the hotel in Village Terskol. (B / L / D) 
Day 3 - Transfer to the lift station Azau. We take a lifts to the Garabashi lift station (3870m). Check into the Refuge.(3900m). Acclimatization walk to 4100m. till Priutt 11 Refuge Overnight in the hut. (B / L / D) 
Day 4 - Acclimatization. This day we will hike to 4700m to the top of the Pastukhov Rocks. Overnight in the hut. (B / L / D) 
Day 5 – Rest day. Training on the glacier during which time we will practice skills necessary to climb to the Summit (rope work, ice axe etc.) (B / L / D) 
Day 6 - Summit Day. We will start very early at about 1 AM. Using headlamps, we make our way to the Pastukhov Rocks, where we stop for a short rest and some drinks. Deadline till about 12 PM. The more difficult parts are located higher the Saddle, altitude 5350-5600m. At the end of our way is the wide Plato where usually is very windy and finally the Summit! Descent to the hut. Overnight in the hut. (B / L / D) 
Day 7 - Descend to the hotel—Reserve day. If you stay at the mount hut this day, it is to be paid extra. (B / L / D) 
Day 8 - Reserve. Hike in the Baksan valley. (B / L / D)
Day 9 - Breakfast at the Hotel. Transfer to Min Vodi Airport. (- / - / -)
